Thanksgiving Turkey Trot
If you are feeling full from all of the food you have consumed during the holiday, there is an easy way to release some of it.
Grand Rapids has its very own Thanksgiving Turkey Trot.
Presented by Blue Care Network of Michigan, the Grand Rapids Turkey Trot is a 5k event that is in support of the students and student-athletes of Grand Rapids Public Schools.

America's Thanksgiving Parade in Michigan
On November 23rd, 97th America's Thanksgiving Day Parade is happening in Detroit.
Hour Detroit shares the day's itinerary.
"The day kicks off with the Strategic Staffing Solutions Turkey Trot at 7:30 a.m. Racers can pick from three races: the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan Mashed Potato Mile, Stuffing Strut 5K, and the Strategic Staffing Solutions 10K Turkey Trot. They may also double-up on races if they choose."
With this year's theme being “A Heart of History, the parade will start at 8:45 a.m. at Kirby and Woodward and make its way down to Congress.
Besides the marching bands and dance teams, there will be giant balloons like fan favorites Captain Underpants and Kermit the Frog, clowns, big heads, floats from area businesses, and of course, Santa Claus!
While applications for marching bands, dance teams, and equestrian units are closed for this year's parade, you can submit for the 2024 Michigan Thanksgiving Parade here.
