For the fifth edition of GR's Greatest, Lisha B is chatting with no other than, Deontae.
Born on June 12, 2000, Deontae Dixon is a 22-year-old upcoming star of R&B music from Grand Rapids, Michigan.
From the very young age of 8 years old, he was highly inspired by famous artists, including Chris Brown, and MJ, which influenced him to start producing music and singing. He began to listen to these well-known musicians and practice singing like them, and from then on, his interest in singing and dancing grew.
Deontae started developing a love for R&B music due to his sister playing a lot of soulful music around him; which makes sense on why he ended up picking R&B genre as his expertise.
When Deontae released his first song in 2019, along with a debut album in 2020, it gained a lot of traction worldwide because of his unique rhythm and music, making it a hit with over 100k streams.
Following this, his success has been unstoppable and he is now a well-recognized public figure having released his second album in August 2021, crossing over 400k streams.
