Whenever Nas drops new music it's a great day in hip-hop. The hip-hop OG released a new track from the soundtrack of The Get Down Part 2, the popular Netflix series based on the beginning of hip-hop in the 1970s.

The new song, "Angel Dust," references the huge drug epidemic in New York City during the mid to late 1970s. Nasty Nas goes off on the song, showcasing his legendary storytelling ability that made him one of the greatest rappers of all-time.

"Angels with dirty faces, angels with broken wings/The devil's dust, PCP, invaded blood streams/People lining up to get it, Fantastic knew how to flip it/Illegal substances constructing, but plus addicted/Trust it and respect it, almost got me arrested/All of the time I invested in school is now of question/Child prone to violence like a dog returns to its own father," he raps.

Part one of The Get Down was released last year and had hip-hop fans satisfied. The second part of the series was released last week on Netflix. Check out the trailer for The Get Down Part 2, which includes some music from 6lack.

Earlier this month, House of Iona and RCA Records released “Break the Locks,” which is a record off the show’s soundtrack. The video is a scene from Part 2 featuring The Get Down Brothers—which consists of actors Justice Smith, who plays Ezekiel “Books” Figuero; Skylan Brooks, who plays Ra Ra Kipling; Tremaine Brown Jr., who portrays Boo Boo Kipling; and Shameik Moore, who is the group’s DJ, Shaolin Fantastic—performing the song.
