Battle Creek Man Says It Just Takes One to Win Big in Lotto 47
How many times do you play the lotto games, Mega Millions or Power Ball? Me? Very seldom, but for many probably every week. Chances of winning.....not so great, but there's always hope.
For many of us, myself included, we forget about Michigan's Lotto 47 game. Okay, the jackpots aren't as big as the big games, but your odds are much better, 1 in a littler over 10 million compared to 1 in nearly 300 million for Power Ball, so, why not play. A ticket is only a buck!
Well, a Battle Creek man beat the odds and just won a $3.39 million Lotto 47 jackpot, and that's not too shabby. He's a 45-year old guy, who is withholding his name and says he bought his winning ticket at the Meijer gas station in Sturgis.
Lotto 47 takes place every Wednesday and Saturday night at 7:29pm. The top prize starts at $1 million and keeps rising until it is won, so it has been known to go into the tens of millions of dollars.
The winner said he plays Lotto 47 regularly and always buy one ticket for the drawing. His simple thought being, it only takes one.
The winner said:
“I didn’t realize I had won for a couple of weeks. I stack my tickets up, and then my wife scans them on the app to see if we won. When she scanned this ticket, she told me we’d won but I was certain she was just joking with me. When she started crying, I knew it wasn’t a joke at all.”
Fox 17 reported he's going to take the lump-sum payment of about $2.3 million instead of taking the annuity payments for the full amount.
And, what is he going to do with all that money? Go to Disneyland? Nope, he's pretty smart.
“For now, I am going to put this in the bank and let it all sink in. Winning is just an amazing blessing.”
And to think, he won all that money for just $1.
