Are you looking for fun things to do in Grand Rapids, but you're on a tight budget? Well, I have an answer. How about FREE, or at least CHEAP, fun things to do. Believe me, there are a lot, and they're right in your own back yard.

First of all, you can visit the Grand Rapids Public Museum for free later this month.

On Sunday, July 16, the museum will waive the normal admission fee from noon to 5 p.m. so you can explore the museum's three floors of core exhibits at no cost. There are additional costs for the special Mind Bender Mansion exhibit as well as planetarium shows and the carousel, however. All the information is at www.grpm.org.

But, wait, there's more. According to the web site Trip Buzz, there are tons of things/places to visit for free, or cheap, in Grand Rapids. What about Millennium Park? It is a 1,500 acre outdoor park that is well suited for picnics and barbecues. The park also contains wetlands and lakes, along with woodlands and trails, and a man-made six acre beach.

Or, how about the Meyer May House, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1909? It's free!
